Dr. Kristen Hicks

Dr. Kristen Hicks graduated from the University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2011. She worked as an associate veterinarian at a mixed animal practice for over three years before venturing out on her own and opening up her own clinic, Diamond H Veterinary Service, outside of Covington, Indiana. She is licensed in Illinois and Indiana and is also a USDA accredited veterinarian. She was raised with companion animals as well as a herd of horses. She has years of experience with horses, cattle, pigs, goats, sheep and small animals.

What sets Dr. Hicks apart from some other veterinarians is that she truly cares about the health and wellbeing of the animals, no matter what the species is. She always tries to do what is best for the animal above anything else. Diamond H also tries hard to keep our prices affordable so that all of our clients can afford to take the best care of their pets and livestock.

Dr. Hicks married Steve Hicks, a local beef and grain farmer in the summer of 2010. They have two little boys, Jett Daniel (born August 2013) and Waylon Jene (born March 2016). The family enjoys raising Simmental show cattle and commercial beef cattle as well as running the veterinary practice. In their free time, the Hicks family enjoys spending time outdoors with their horses, dogs and chickens. They are members of the Christian Union Church of Covington, IN.

Juli Harrison, RVT

Juli graduated from Purdue University's Veterinary Technology program in 2012 with her Bachelor of Science degree. Originally from Terre Haute, Indiana, Juli has worked in a clinical setting for almost 7 years now as a registered veterinary technician.

She married her best friend Cameron in 2013, they currently live in Wallace, Indiana. Juli and Cameron welcomed their first daughter, Carter Grace in 2017. They are members of the Wallace Christian Church, and she enjoys serving others. Juli enjoys spending time with her family and friends any chance she gets. She loves her fur babies like they are her children. Her passion is animals and providing the absolute best care to them. She loves all animals, big and small, but if she had to pick, she loves horses and dogs the best.

Heagen Wickens

Heagen Wickens graduated from Harrison College Northwest in 2011 with an Associates Degree in Science. She completed her degree to be a veterinary technician and has been working alongside Dr. Hicks since her externship during her last year of school. She grew up on a farm with all different species of large and small animals and was also a 10 year 4-H member. Heagen married Dusty Wickens in June of 2012, and they welcomed their first daughter, Mabel Rae, in September of 2015. The family has six dogs, three cats and several chickens and guineas. They are members of the Christian Union Church in Covington. If Heagen had to choose her favorite animal species, she could still only get it narrowed down to dogs, horses and chickens.

Alexis Froedge, RVT

Alexis Froedge graduated December 2011 from Purdue University with her Associate's Degree. She has worked in a clinical setting for almost eight years now, but she became a registered veterinary technician in March of 2012. She married her husband, Clinton, in 2012. They live in Covington, IN, on their own little hobby farm of goats, chickens, cows, dogs and cats. They are members of the Wallace Christian Church. In her spare time, she enjoys being a mini 4H leader and spending time with family and friends. She loves all animals, but if she had to pick a favorite species it would be a tossup between chickens and goats.

Alex Hegg completed his Bachelors of Science in Animal Sciences at Purdue University and is now pursuing his veterinary degree at the Veterinary School at Purdue. Alex served as an Animal Sciences Ambassador, President of Block and Bridle, and was a member of the 2014 National Champion Livestock Judging Team during his undergraduate studies. Alex grew up on a cattle farm in central Indiana where his family raises and shows Polled Hereford Cattle. His specific interests include large animal medicine and bovine reproduction. Her best littleĀ  buddy is her Chihuahua-Pekingese mix named Axel.
